It is fully hallmarked for London 1975(A), the lion passant, the London assay mark and the makers marks "JB" for Jocelyn Burton. It was produced to commemorate to mark the 300th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone of St Paul’s Cathedral. They were made in a limited number of 900, this is number 572. The cast gilded handle in the form of the St Paul’s Phoenix and motto "RESURGAM". On the base it has: NUMBER 572 OF A LIMITED EDITION OF 900 MADE BY ORDER OF THE DEAN AND CHAPTER OF ST PAUL’S CATHEDRAL TO COMMEMORATE THE 300TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE LAYING OF THE FOUNDATION STONE IN 1675 Length (end handle to outer rim) approx. – 17.5 cm Diameter approx. – 11.5 cm Height approx. – 3.6 cm It weighs a substantial 234.9 grams.
