Antique Large Sterling Silver Knife & Fork Set By Hamilton & Inches With Original Fitted Leather Case. The knife and fork have been beautifully designed and the best quality mother of pearl used for the handles. The mother of pearl handles are really stunning, I can't properly capture their beauty or the way they react to light, it full of green and pinks and just looks amazing. The knife is approx 23.5 cm long and the fork is approx 19.5 cm long. The knife and fork weigh a substantial 127.5 grams approx. The knife and fork are a matching set but have differing hallmarks which is not unusual for flatware of this era. The knife is hallmarked to the blade with the makers mark "CJA" for "Charles James Allen", the Crown for Sheffield, the lion passant and the date letter "k" for 1927, the fork is hallmarked with the makers mark "A&D" for "Allen & Darwin", the Crown for Sheffield, the lion passant and the date letter "u" for 1912. This set is in really excellent condition, it has not been used at all. The fitted leather case is also in excellent condition with just a few marks and wear from storage.
